The King Cetshwayo District Municipality continues to demonstrate excellence in governance and service delivery. Yesterday, the municipality was awarded a certificate of recognition for its consistent reporting to the South African Waste Information System (SAWIS) during the Waste Khoro Awards.
This latest achievement follows another major milestone attained last week, when the municipality was honoured by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) for receiving a clean audit outcome from the Auditor-General for five consecutive years.
His Worship, the Mayor, Cllr SZ Dlamini, welcomed these accolades, describing them as a clear indication that the municipality is moving in the right direction. He noted that these accomplishments mark a return to the municipality’s glory days, when its landfill site was ranked number one in South Africa.
The mayor also extended his congratulations to three sister municipalities within the district—uMlalazi, uMfolozi, and Nkandla—for their outstanding achievements in also securing awards.
“These recognitions reflect our collective commitment to serving our communities with excellence, accountability, and dedication,” said Mayor Dlamini.
